First Blog

So my very first "blog"! Haha who ever would of thought that you would sit down on your own express all of your feelings like you would to your diary or best friend and publish it to the WORLD WIDE WEB! well here goes nothing. The vision for my blog is to keep in contact with my beautiful family and friends and also to let my"Johannaness" still creep out so I can remain sane while I am away on a working holiday in the UK! It has only taken me lets see 7 weeks into my adventure to get to this breaking point! Thanks to Aunty for giving me that little idea! So if you know me well you would know that I am very much a people person. I love a good chat! Currently I am working in the UK as a live in personal carer so pretty much I get to help people with disabilities live their lives to the max! Being a talker and just a busy bubbly person I am drowning! I love my job but sometimes I feel like Jo has gone! So this is where this blog comes in! Please read on.......

ok a quick update:
Two beautiful sisters, a fantastic best friend who knows me inside out and back to front, more than a handful of amazing friends and one very sexy boyfriend! Oh oh and a shout out to AA (AA=Aunty, the sister my mum never had hence the Aunty call) and Hubby and her 2 children, my cousins well we are not really children anymore! Pretty much my other 2 siblings! These wonderful people make up my family. Whom I love very much!

I think I was 1 week in before my training had started when I text the bestie the following...... OK I am done with the whole "self discovery" when are you getting your arse on a plane? his reply? no dice not coming over :( thats when it actually hit me I was here to do this on my own. So I rocked it! I wined and dined myself well not so much wined but there was lots of dining, shopping, movies, theatres, London sight seeing and people watching - yes I was a weirdo in Leicester square that was just watching the world go by eating an ice cream.
AA and Hubby thankfully let me stay me in their home where they are living for 18months (doing the Uk working/holiday too) great food, great conversation and comfy air bed! Beats and dingy hostel with high odds of getting attacked by A. Bed bugs or B. the other guests! Bestie and I had a not so good experience in a hostel last trip to London 2008! haha now I think of it was a funny time but a good learning experience! Insert french accent here: Arrhh Zchoooanna you are the most beautiful girl in the world! you look so beautiful when you wake up in the mornings! Umm yeah right, as I fumble to find my way to the shared toilet 3 levels up!
So any way back on track after sight seeing etc, I had a week of training that I had to do before starting with any clients. I had my first job by the end of the training (woo hoo) it was only a 10 day holiday cover, I think I made a "lasting impression" by the amount of facebook love I get from him! Damn it I'll learn from accepting that friend request! When the 10 days was up I had a couple of worrying days off, was promised a couple of things from the agency that didn't come through. Made that statement "if it seams too good to be true, it normally is" come to mind! By the end of the week I was placed into an emergency change over for "2 weeks" 4 weeks later I am still here and will be for another 2 weeks - all good I don't mind, nice lady just feel a bit sorry for the routine that dictates her life. Makes you really appreciate the finer things for example the spontaneity of just waking up in the morning and doing what ever you feel like, no need to plan ahead medication times etc.... I am sure I have switched things up a bit for his lady anyway! I am lucky here because my clients has a modified wheelchair friendly car, we have been on a couple of interesting car rides. The longest was stonehenge with cousin and BF who came for a visit while on their European adventure! I got in for free cos I took my client carers get in for free! saaweet!
While at Stonehenge we were packing up the car about to leave and I saw two clients from my last job! I can't help it but I remember names and faces so I said Hi! I think it spins people out that I remember their names maybe comes across a bit stalkerish??? But I am generally just interested (not nosy) in people and mean no harm! I had last weekend off and went to Paris to celebrate my 25th Birthday and had a long awaited catch up with my old roomy/old work mate (love her), living up north on England with her BF, my sis and her bestie, cousin and BF. 5 sexy chickas and one lucky guy! any way there was a point here...... the cousin and BF were having a loved up night in at their hotel after what I assuming a good time prior in Amsterdam (sorry AA), the girls and I got all sexed up (dressed up) and travelled about an hour out of Paris on the train to watch a sunset fireworks and water display! It was amazing the local show back home could really take a few pointers! We trekked in our heels up and back down again the cobble stone road to the Palace of Versailles to watch the marvellous production. 1 glass of champagne was 10 Euros! Wowzers! so 1 drink was all we had to easy the pain of the aching feet! Some of the heels were off on the walk back to the station. We narrowly made it on to the absolutely packed last train to get back to Paris, as it was after 12 the Metro had finished for the night, so we had to get a cab from the last station the overland train took us to. Trying to weasel our way out of the station with our expired tickets I got a "hey!" I look up to see another client from my old job! I am now convinced that I am not actually doing this by myself! Little signs along the way to remind me of home and that I am doing the right thing!

I have little sis KP coming out to see me tomorrow! I don't know weather to say it, but I have a massive urge to say to her "I told you so!" She has just had 3 weeks I think traveling Europe before I left home I asked her while the plans for her trip were being put together. Are you going to come to London while partying up in Europe? Cos it's so close! I got a stern NO! but after making it half way home she has decided to make the trek back to London to have a look around! hahaha Hmmm I might sleep on that one! Also in other exciting news I got to speak to my BF JC today on Skype for the first time. We haven't seen each other since the end of our beautiful Thailand holiday together back in May. Even though the connection was really bad it was so nice and really made my day (week even!) to see him smiling back at me! I am writing this now so that JC doesn't have to listen to me go on and on and on and on! hahaha

Any way if you made to here.... thanks and stay tuned for my next update!

Stay safe
